Northern League Division Two 24/09/2022 - 3pm Kick Off   Esh Winning 1-0 Jarrow   Taylor (26)| No scorer   Jarrow went into the game at Esh Winning on the back of two encouraging performances in the league but we were ultimately unable to break down their opponents and the game was decided by a world class strike.   Jarrow however, almost took the lead on 9 minutes through an unlikely source. Nice football from Alex Thompson to release Tyrie down the right-hand side won the away side a throw in an advanced area of the pitch. Davey Smith then swung a cross to the back post where Thompson managed to nod the ball back into the path of Alex Bone who cleverly rolled the ball away from the defender but his shot went narrowly wide of the right post.   On 20 minutes Dan Smith drove forward and played in Alex Thompson who managed to slide the ball across the 6 yard box towards young winger Bradley Tyrie but thanks to great defending Tyrie was...

Northern League Division Two Jarrow FC 1-0 Sunderland West End 25/09/2022 7.30pm Kick Off Dan Smith (28) | No Scorer   Jarrow went into this one on the back of 7 defeats in 8 games and hadn’t won at home this season, despite that poor form the crowd at Perth Green was once again sizable and backed their team until the end. Typically, due to both of these sides being in the bottom half it was a scrappy opening to the game and neither side took control until Jarrow got into their rhythm. The first real chance of the game after 10 minutes Boney was played in by Dan Smith. Boney had continued his run after carrying the ball forward from left and laying back inside to Smith but could only side foot his shot to the keepers left and he made a comfortable save. New signing Abu Salim was causing problems for West End with his forward bursts and after a corner from West End Jarrow countered and opposite side winger Bradley Tyrie fed Salim who cut back inside and fired a shot ...

Northern League Division Two 31 / 08 /2022 Willington 0-2 Jarrow    No Scorer  |  Bowie 11’ & 12’   Jarrow travelled to county Durham in search of the ir  first win of the new season at the  8 th  attempt  of asking .   The game started well with both teams trying to get the ball down and play but the deadlock  was broken  when a Harry Simpson defence splitting ball over the top sent Andrew Bowie free. Bowie slid the ball left footed past the  Willo  keeper and Jarrow led 0-1 .   Into the 12 th  minute and only 30 seconds later  than the opening strike  Joe Power squared for Bowie who was in the box again and this  time  turned in a simple  finish to double the away sides lead. I  did not  even have time to tweet about the first goal!   The  quickfire double stunned the hosts but to the ir credit  after  a few  minutes they regained  compos...

Northern League Division Two Jarrow FC 3-4 Horden CW 24/08/2022 7.30pm Kick Off Wilkinson ’12, Thompson 47’, North ‘90 | Wright 6’ & 45’, Hotchkiss 20’, Skidmore ‘40 For Match goals follow:-  JARROW TV CLICK HERE Jarrow entertained 5 th placed Horden CW on a sun-drenched South Tyneside evening in search of their first win of the season at the 7 th attempt. Things got off to a terrible start for the home side who had shipped 4 at home by half time the previous Saturday when after some nice forward play by Jarrow a long punt forward was missed by the keeper and Wright nipped in. The Horden man controlled well and tapped the ball home for 0-1. Jarrow responded well to losing the goal however and Harry Simpson at full back won the ball in the middle of the park and fed Wilkinson who began a mazy run toward goal culminating in an accurate left footed shot that found the inside of the far post before the ball nestled in the back of the net. 1-1. A tackle from behind a...

Chester-Le-Street 1-4 Jarrow FC (26-03-2022 –3pm Kick Off)

Northern League Division Two Chester-Le-Street 1-4 Jarrow FC 26-03-2022 –3pm Kick Off Hepplewhite (55) | Hargrave (62 pen, 64) Robinson (70, 96) Starting x11 vs Chester-Le-Street   Jarrow travelled to Moor Park for the second time this season looking to banish the memories of losing the cup tie here on penalties last year.   It was the away side who started the brighter in the County Durham sunshine with Glen Hargrave having a hattrick of chances inside the first 10 minutes. The all action forward put 2 headers from similar corners wide and also had a left footed drive that went narrowly over the bar.   On eleven minutes with Jarrow defending a corner Joe Power lofted a fantastic ball over the top of the defence where Daniel Robinson picked up the ball and advanced towards goal, the full back however did well to force him wide left and he dragged his shot agonisingly wide.   After 17 minutes there came an unfortunate incident. Joe Ames and Luke...

Northern League Division Two Jarrow FC 4-1 Esh Winning 19/03/2022 – 3pm Kick Off Mulvain (50, 59) North (86) Bell (90) | McMahon (33 pen)     Jarrow got back to winning ways at home against Esh Winning on Saturday after falling behind at half time in front of a healthy crowd at Perth Green that included a Stag Do from Penrith!   Jarrow almost got off to a flyer when a Luke Hudson ball over the top was controlled well by Glen Hargrave only for the forward to be pulled down as he advanced towards goal. A free kick and a yellow card were given, the last man debate was ringing around Perth Green.   Esh had the next chance of the game in a fairly subdued half but Steve Hubery showed great reflexes to save low down from a point blank range.   With both sides struggling to create any clear cut chances Liam Mulvain tried to get Jarrow going and had a few speculative efforts that went just over the bar.   On 31 minutes however the second ...

Horden CW 4-2 Jarrow (12/03/2022 –3pm Kick Off)

Northern League Division Two Horden CW 4-2 Jarrow 12/03/2022 –3pm Kick Off   Home-Jackson (1), Wright (8), Maskell (62), Ellison (90) | North (22), Summers (78)   Jarrow went in search of another away win but came unstuck against a very good Horden side. Despite the good football however it was refereeing decisions that made the headlines during this excellent football match.   Horden struck first blood in the 1 st minute of the game as Home-Jackson was played in over the top and kept his cool by slotting the ball past Hubs in the Jarrow goal despite calls from defenders that he was offside.   Within a few minutes and Jarrow’s poor start was doubled. A slip from captain Wallace allowed Wright to nip in and round keeper Hubs to make it 2 after just 8 minutes. Jarrow had once again failed to start the game well and it was costing them dearly.   A Joran Reed ball over the top was then well controlled by Channon North and after rounding the ...
