Things got off to a terrible start for the home side who had shipped 4 at home by half time the previous Saturday when after some nice forward play by Jarrow a long punt forward was missed by the keeper and Wright nipped in. The Horden man controlled well and tapped the ball home for 0-1. Jarrow responded well to losing the goal however and Harry Simpson at full back won the ball in the middle of the park and fed Wilkinson who began a mazy run toward goal culminating in an accurate left footed shot that found the inside of the far post before the ball nestled in the back of the net. 1-1.
