Northern League Division Two Jarrow FC 2-3 Newcastle Blue Star 29-07-2023 – 3pm Kick Off McFarlane (3 own goal), Morrison (19) | Lanning (9, 62), Lovett (26 own goal) In front of a massive opening day crowd Newcastle Blue Star twice came from behind to beat a rejuvenated Jarrow at Perth Green on a glorious Saturday afternoon. With no less than 8 new players starting for the home side it was one of those new signings Joe Hunter who almost opened the scoring after nicking the ball from the centre half but firing his left foot shot wide. A Daryl Donnelly foul on Abu then gave Jarrow the chance to swing the ball in the box. Left footed Karl Morrison swung over the free kick and unfortunately for McFarlane he could only direct his clearing header to the far post which beat the keeper. Jarrow 1-0 up after 3 minutes. The lead however only lasted 6 minutes in a pulsating opening half. A left foot cross was cut out but fell to Lanning who lashed home the equaliser. Just 10 minute

Season 22/23 Review - Jarrow FC

Season 22/23 Review The current season is over and it’s time to reflect on the 40 games that saw us finish in 18 th place in our 6 th Northern League campaign, our lowest finish since promotion in 2017! To say this current campaign has been a one of highs low would be an understatement. From a spate of draws to start with, a promising unbeaten run the middle and a disappointing string of results near the end we find ourselves sitting precariously in 18 th place in the table having been leapfrogged by Ryton & Crawcrook Albion recently on Wednesday evening. The season started with three successive decent draws against Washington, Birtley & Brandon with the latter two sides challenging at the top for most of the season. It was only with Brandon’s manager Mattie Thompson departing for Crook Town that there season tailed off. Aiden Routledge the Divisions leading marksman bagged 2 of his impressive 50 plus goals during the 2-2 home draw with Birtley. Jarrow football club al

Brandon United 0-3 Jarrow (04/02/2023 – 3pm Kick Off)

Northern League Division Two 04/02/2023 – 3pm Kick Off   Brandon United 0-3 Jarrow   No Scorer| Berhan (48), Salim (53), Whittle (74)   Match Goals Click here   On a cold but pleasant afternoon in County Durham Jarrow used their powers of bouncebackability to produce another fine away display and take all 3 points from a top Brandon side.   The game started slowly with the away side settling the quickest but when Brandon took over control the visitors had Curtis Richardson to thank for keeping the scores level. A wicked inswinging cross was met by the diving head of former Jarrow man Kobe Bewicke and Curtis managed to acrobatically tip the ball over the bar.   On 23 minutes and Richardson was at it again. A corner swung in and powerfully met by the head of a Brandon player was once again tipped majestically over the bar by the Jarrow stopper.   Just over 10 minutes later and Brandon were within a whisker of taking the lead when the ball fell kindly to the pace

Northern League Division Two   28 / 0 1 /202 3   –  3 .15 pm Kick Off   Washington   3 - 4  Jarrow   Rounsfell  (44, 77) Hughes (65) |  Mulvain  (20), Summer s  (25), Salim (41, 88)     After slight delay in the kick off time due to a problem with the pitch Jarrow recorded their 6 th victory in 11 games in front a vocal away following who kept singing despite a temporary come back from the home side.   When play did eventually get underway the early exchanges in this one wasn’t exactly setting the game up to be the classic  that  it would ultimately  turn out to be with neither side able to assert any sort of dominance with the ball.    Rather inevitably it was the current hot partnership that broke the dea d lock. Abu the provider this time who slid in Liam  Mulvain  who cooly found the bottom left corner of the net. 0-1.   Just 5 minutes later and Jarrow’s top goal scorer was at it again with the assists. He cleverly got round the defender and drew the foul on the edge of the box.

Jarrow 4-2 Billingham Town (3pm Kick Off 14/01/23)

Northern League Division Two   JARROW 4-2 BILLINGHAM TOWN   14/01/2023 Whittle (35), Mulvain (45), Salim (48), Talbot (67) | Braithwaite (60), Bird (66)   On a bitterly cold South Tyneside Winters afternoon Jarrow got back to winning ways and lifted themselves up into 14 th place in the league on goal difference.   After only a few minutes on the clock Jarrow almost made a dream start when they won a corner after some nice play from Nick Little found Luke Hudson in the area. Abu took the corner and it was recycled back to him on the right wing. Abu managed to swing his cross in and Kris Summers controlled it and Liam Mulvain fired over from close range.   It was then Billingham’s turn to attack with a succession of corners but Jarrow held firm and thwarted any danger from the 5 th placed visitors.   On 20 minutes Billingham thought they had broken the deadlock when a slid finish somehow deflected wide for a corner.   Just 2 minutes later and Luke Hudson sw

Northern League Division Two Jarrow 2-1 Prudhoe YC Seniors Mulvain (8), Bone (16) | Scott (10) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBHIdVu7Ri8   A decent crowd endured biting winter wind and rain to see Jarrow climb another place in Division 2 to 15 th and record 3 wins on the bounce.   Jarrow settled into their work quickly and despite the recent rain the pitch was holding up remarkably well. Some nice one touch passing from Berhan, Mulvain & Whittle in the middle of the park allowed Salim space to run into and was found well by Hudson but on this occasion however top goal scorer Salim was unable to keep his right foot effort down but the warning signs were there.   Salim then cut in from the left this time and fed James Talbot whose shot was tipped round the post for a corner. The corner was swung in by Salim but cleared only as far as Alex Berhan who laid the back straight back off to Salim who drove at the defence in almost exactly the same way as he had 7 days ago a

Northern League Division Two JARROW 4-0 WILLINGTON   Salim (46,54) Whittle (63) Hudson (65)   https://youtu.be/wNSXO-CbLLw   Jarrow went into this game on the back of a 7-game unbeaten run-in league and cup after a timely upturn in results and ultimately cruised to a comfortable victory after a dominant performance in front of a sizeable and boisterous crowd.   After 10 minutes Jarrow’s passing game finally clicked as neat footwork from Hudson released Salim down the right-hand side of the area but the tricky forward could only screw his left foot shot wide of the right-hand post. Jarrow however were now asserting themselves on their opponents and sensing an opening.   Just three minutes later and Salim nipped in to pinch the ball off the full backs poor pass and hit it first time, the ball however crashed off the cross bar and was hooked to safety by Willington.   Then just a minute after that chance an Alex Berhan ball over the top found Salim in space who drove
