Match Preview - Crook Town Wednesday night sees the Blue & White army travel to Crook for their third away game of the season having previously lost both games on the road at Birtley & Easington. Crook Town find themselves 3rd top of Division Two having won 3matches, losing once and drawing their last game 2-2 after being 2 nil down at home to Billingham Synthonia before rescuing a point late on. Crook are also incidentally joint top league goal scorers with Billy Synth having scored 14 goals in just 5 games. Crook Town have improved remarkably in the last few seasons after having stagnated at 17th & 18 th finishes successively. They then managed a 9th place finish followed by ending the COVID season where they had a great season and finished 3rd. The improvement year on year seems to have followed them into this season also and will be a big test for Jarrow who have struggled for consistency despite playing some good football already this season. Jarrow will especia

Jarrow 1-0 Willington (26/09/2020)

Northern League Division Two 26/09/2020 - 3pm Kick Off   Jarrow 1-0 Willington   41’ Lennox |   The 6th league game of the new season saw Willington who were aiming to go top of northern League Division Two with a win, travel to Perth Green to play a Jarrow team who had suffered a 4-1 defeat against Bedlington at home only 3 days earlier. Dave Bell gave a first league start to Graeme Mcall in midfield and the Blue & White Army welcomed back Kris Allen & Adam Lennox after a spell on the side lines for the pair. Into the action and it was the visitors who started the brighter with Willington breaking down the right and forcing keeper Jak Wells into a block save that he parried away to safety. That was to be the theme of the game however as Jarrow swiftly countered and Adam Lennox who was played in down the left could only tamely lob an effort towards the middle of the goal that was easily dealt with. Full back Phil Gray then combined well with Kai Elliott do

FA Vase Qualifying Round 1 Steeton AFC 2-2 Jarrow FC (Jarrow win 9-8 on Pens) 19/09/2020 3pm Kick Off 77’ Wolfenden, 95’ Briggs | 35’ Hargrave, 40’ Hetherington On Saturday Jarrow travelled to East Lancashire to face West Yorkshire side Steeton at Barnoldswick Towns Silent Night Stadium and for the most part it was anything but quiet. Of the 102 supporters attending the game Jarrow’s Blue & White army made up at least half of the crowd in a nicely coordinated and socially distanced event. True proof of fans and officials getting it right during these troubling times. The first half was largely an evenly contested affair and both teams took their time to get into a game that lacked any real pace or bite. With so much riding on the game it was understandably cagey from both sides who were looking for a place in the next round. There was plenty of neat passing in the opening exchanges but it was a free kick and a Defenders header that almost brought the first goal with

Easington Colliery 5-2 Jarrow (17/09/2020)

Northern League Division Two Easington Colliery 5-2 Jarrow 17/09/2020 –7.30pm Kick Off   26’ Middleton, 62’, 73’ Pounder, 67’ Adamson, 74’ Chapman | 7’ Collins, 84’ Toward   The game between Easington Colliery and Jarrow on a mild late summer’s night started with a frenetic pace and Josh Houghton almost made it one nil to the visitors inside the first minute of the game with shot just wide of the post. In this end to end encounter however Easington had a great chance of their own just minutes later as Middleton headed just wide of Jarrow’s goal. Into the 7th minute and a mix up allowed Levi Collins to nip in and round the keeper before coolly slotting home a goal in his first start of the season for Jarrow. The frenetic pace didn’t let up with a goal being scored and indeed Easington had the next chance soon after as Watson fired a shot just over the bar. It was Easington again who made the running a few minutes later and somehow a side foot shot was hacked away b

Match Preview   Steeton AFC v Jarrow FC   (19/09/2020)   Steeton Association Football have been around for 115 years having been founded in 1905 and currently ply their trade in the North West Counties League Division One North, The same level as Jarrow’s last season’s FA Vase opponents Vauxhall Motors. Despite hailing from West Yorkshire Steeton currently play their home games at Lancashire club Barnoldswick Towns ground. They had been ground sharing with Rugby League side Keighley Cougars but that ended in 2019. They now await their own ground being given the go ahead before they can move in. 3 Seasons ago when the North West counties League split into a Premier division with two sections below it, Steeton were added to the North Division where they managed a credible 15th position scoring 80 goals in just 38 games. Carlisle City incidentally leaving the League and joining Jarrow in the Northern league Division two. Last year’s league was ultimately a disappointing

Match Preview - Easington Colliery v Jarrow FC (17/09/2020)

Match Preview   Easington Colliery v Jarrow FC (17/09/2020)   Unusually for Jarrow, Thursday see’s the Blue & White army travel to Easington Colliery. The last few meetings between the sides at Welfare Park have provided some great football but ultimately always a victory for the home side. Even last seasons 4-2 win for Easington was a stand out game with Jarrow employing a new 5 at the back system and struggling for the first 45 but managing to come alive in the second. It would also appear that early on in the season when Jarrow do travel down the A19 to Welfare Park, Easington are always near the top of the league and they enjoy fast starts to the season. They were top during last season’s game. They are an attractive side to watch at home and tonight should be no different as the home side sit 6 th with 2 wins from 2 having a game in hand over most teams due to their postponed fixture with Washington last week. For Jarrow they will have no doubt taken confide

Jarrow FC 0 – 0 West Allotment Celtic (05/09/2020)

Northern League Division 2 05/09/2020 – 3pm Kick Off Jarrow FC 0 – 0 West Allotment Celtic The opening day of the Northern League Division 2 season started with last seasons number 1 team travelling to Perth Green in a reverse of the scheduled West Allotment home fixture. Jarrow Lasses U13’s gave the team a guard of honour as they entered the field which was a nice touch to start the season. The girls having won their game earlier in the day 4-1 with goals from Hope (2), Walton & daughter of ex Jarrow player Chris Macdonald Eva McDonald. Into the action and the game was always going to be full of good football and a bright start from Jarrow saw an Adam Lennox shot well saved by West’s keeper after a great ball from Josh Elcoate had released Lennox down the right. From that moment on West started to press Jarrow’s back 5 and pin them in somewhat as the away side enjoyed the vast majority of the possession. On 17 minutes a nice piece of passing play was finished off wit

Match Preview Jarrow vs West Allotment (5-9-2020)

Match Preview   Jarrow FC v West Allotment Celtic (5/09/2020)   Saturday sees the whole of the Northern league return to competitive action for the first time since February in some cases. The visitors to Perth Green however have already tasted competitive action in this years FA cup with midweek success on penalties against Northern League Division One side Whickham at the Glebe. The result against higher league opposition should come as no surprise however as West Allotment were arguably the best side in last seasons Division 2 with their final league position giving little doubt to that argument. This particular fixture was due to be played as a West Allotment home game but as West have moved grounds from there home for the previous few seasons up near the airport at Druid Park, to now share with Division One side Newcastle Benfield at the Sam Smith ground which is a mere 5 miles from West Allotment. Until Covid cut the season short earlier this year West were top of t
